Huckleberry Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 Risto isn't going anywhere. Joker isn't ready and bogo/montour are injured. Risto - Miller - Nelson to start the season on the right. 1 Quote

Samson's Flow Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 Sorry TrueBlue - we've all been waiting for the Risto trade to drop for multiple weeks now. It looks like it isn't happening before Thursday's opener. Quote

Curt Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 With regards to Ristolainen being traded, I want to say that I bet he is traded by the trade deadline, but I think I’ll resign myself to the fact that I have no clue what’s going on there. 1 Quote
dudacek Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 In my best-case scenario, Risto is still a Sabre after the deadline. That’s because he’s playing well and Johansson and Mittelstadt are holding their own at centre. I also keep buying lottery tickets. 2 Quote

Even with those guys holding their own at centre, even projecting positive breaks across the board leaves us with a hole in the top 6 at RW. There's a Rodrigues/Sheary/Sobotka player there that our surplus at RHD may be able to correct. Furthermore, that best-case involves Jokiharju being ready, who I think plays a better brand of hockey, who'd be less of a detriment to our roster than Ristolainen and possibly even a positive as soon as this season. Personally, with all due respect, I think your assessment of Risto is way less than most objective assessments. JMO. Quote

Your assessment of Risto (and I believe over-assessment of Joker so far) doesn't correlate with the statement of being able to replace Sheary/E-Rod/ Sobotka with an upgrade in talent. Well, maybe Vlad. Quote

thewookie1 Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 Barring something last minute I suspect Risto will be a Sabre for the foreseeable future. And seeing as he’s one of the few physical players we have I’d say that’s potentially a good thing if used properly. 1 Quote
