I'm all for the Matthews of the world breaking new ground on deals, guys like Provorov apparently just want to watch the world burn.

Just wait until it's Dahlin

Yep and if he gets a 5 year deal. Both he and Eichel will be UFAs the same summer

What makes the NHL so much fun is the drafting and development of players. I love that I can watch a guy we scout, draft, and root for stay on my team for years on end. I don't wanna be the NBA and watch Anthony Davis walk out the door

I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure Botts will bridge him on a "prove it" deal.

I'd much rather have a league with more movement, where we didn't have to rely on 5 or 10 year plans to change the channel to winning hockey. But that's just my view.

We're the only team that has to do that though, and that's just inept drafting and asset management; at least those things are based on variables you can control, and not how cool your city is.

/s ?

In seriousness, no, I highly doubt Botterill bridges him.

It'll be whoever the GM is at that time who negotiates the bridge.
