Those two losses were clunkers of biblical proportion but if he plays at a 6-2-0 pace for the rest of the season the Sabres will make the playoffs.  Big if, but at least it's nice to know it is possible. 

Which is a cool stat.  Problem is, in only 2 of those 6 wins did Hutton look good and not lucky that his teammates could cover for his over committing on shots & giving up bad rebounds.  Further cool thing is 1 of those 2 games came this afternoon.

It seems to me, that we have a very good team. They smother some teams and keep a lot of shots to the outside. Hutton really struggles on those teams that can move the puck cross ice and shoot. Like Lehner with the Islanders, the team makes him look good, but he nor Hutton is going to steal games. Instead Hutton might lose them for us in a close one, like that goal he gave up from behind the net against the Islanders earlier this year. We lost 1-0 

 

This teams number one priority in the off season should be landing a solid goalie, imo
