LGR4GM Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 lol Definitely his fault that his GM traded away defenders and did nothing to replace them. Quote

FogBat Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 What are we up to now? 3 coaches fired immediately after losses to the Sabres this season? Quote
Randall Flagg Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 I'm not following them closely, but they continue to have elite underlying metrics, and the surface ones show that they're 3 points behind the 1 seed in their division. This is pretty weird then? 4 Quote
matter2003 Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 Damn Sabres have a thing for getting opposing coaches fired apparently... 2 Quote

This is pretty weird then? It makes no sense. The only issue that team has is their defense is going to screw them and they don't have a good goalie prospect in their pipeline (IMPO). Firing Gallant doesn't really help those issues. 3 Quote

That Aud Smell Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 This seems frickin' bizarre on the part of Vegas. Then again, they've been super successful since they came in the league, so ... maybe they know what they're doing. Quote

I'm wondering if it's a continuation of the stuff coming out that got Peters and Babcock slapped around 1 Quote

The last Flames game before Bill Peters got fired was against Buffalo. I have no idea if he was behind the bench or not. I guess technically we could count that one. 1 Quote

Granted, his firing may have been semi imminent, but if they won convincingly, Gallant would have another game at the very least. The firing in general is rather premature in my opinion. 1 Quote

There's no reason to fire him or the GM for their performance though so why would a win/loss dictate that? They must have done something or ticked off ownership somehow 2 Quote

I dunno, it seems to point to the speculation there are non-hockey reasons for the move. 1 Quote
