LGR4GM Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 Crossing him off the list of players for next years roster. 3 Quote
Thorner Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 There isn’t one player that we received from the ROR trade, 1.5 years ago, that is lacing it up in the NHL right now 3 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 My only hope for him was if he beefed up and evolved into a power forward using his size. With a bum shoulder (even if successfully repaired) He's probably never going to be anything of note. 1 Quote

But yeah, the optics for that aren't...great. 1 minute ago, Mustache of God said: I think you might be able to make an argument that the 1st round pick we sent to ANA became Mountour? sabremike Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 Good to see we apparently hired the Mets medical staff as well. Quote

Tondas Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 Didn't seem like that bad of a hit to do that much damage. Well, get well Tage. See ya next training camp. Quote
North Buffalo Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 Depends if it is his AC joint. Still why the hell did it take 2 months? Or Labrum where tears can be hard to spot right away. Quote

They could have offered rehab or surgery to him and he could have chosen rehab in an attempt to save a part of his season as the surgical recovery period would have taken him through the end of the regular season. The real issue issue is that he could have done this a month ago and not pushed it closer to the start of training camp 1 Quote

What a straight out cluster ***** this organization is. Just, WOW. Buffalo has done some real doozies of bad trades. How about this one: Andreychuck + Puppa + #1(#12-Kenny Jonsson) --> Toronto for Grant Fuhr Then later: Grant Fuhr + Philippe Boucher + Denis Tsyguov --> to LA for Huddy, Stauber, Zhitnick, & blown 5th round pick. So, in summation it is: Andreycheck(1LW))(HOF) + Puppa(1G) + Jonsson(1D) + Boucher (1D) +Tsygurov(7D) --->Huddy(4D), Stauber(3G), Zhitnick(1D) Really, it is a bunch of great guys for one very good d-man in Zhitnick. Real Cloutier trade was another stinker: McKegney + JF Sauve + Savard --> Cloutier(party boy bum who was kicked off team by Bowman 1 year later) + Creighton(3C/2C)Giraffe Creighton was later traded to Chicago for an over-the-hill Rick Vaive(1RW) 1 Quote
etiennep99 Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 But, yeah, Ryan O'Reilly for Ryan Johnson is a total fail. (Bergland quit on team, Sobotka just starts to play well and gets knee blown out and is a UFA, Thompson is a bust and injured). Ryan Johnson, while a true Freshman, isn't exactly lighting it up in college. Quote

Curt Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 Darn. It is pretty weird that it took so long to decide on surgery. Quote
woods-racer Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 For all we know he was doing fine rehabbing and it and it looked promising then BAM! All went to the big red down-under. I'm sure he's not thrilled. I can only assume that a player in his position doesn't make it through something like this and become an NHL regular to often. The injury will heal, but the league moves on. Quote
