Progress means different, necessarily.  It doesn’t mean better, necessarily.  If any of my SabreSpace friends stayed up late with the boys, from middle school through college, with games and series, tournaments and Cups, as I did, you’ll know what I mean. Playstation, schmaystation.

Running play by plays and metal players.  Always some lame guy, some crooked guy.   Bliss ....

”Robert, up and down the wall, spins, spins again .....  .... infronttoPerreaultHESCORES!”

My go-to play was having a winger pass the puck to the center, who could keep the puck away from the D-men.  Most of my goals came from a 1:1 vs. the goalie from the slot.  Fun times!

There's still something special to the manual game rather than today's electronic games.  I had the table hockey game where you could physically put an extra attacker near the other team's goalie and pull the goalie piece from your net leaving just the metal stub to try to make a save.  I think it was from Coleco..

What I like about the Bruins ...  they’ve been a great team for a long time, have talent and skill, and never lost that tough as nails, working man, identity.  If I envied, and I don’t, I’d envy that.

We are the complete opposite over the same time period

YES ... get it in the center’s feet, away from waving defensemen sticks ...   and you had the one on one.   Always, those frantically waving defensemen sticks!

Any player who comes to Boston knows this is the expectation and culture of being a Bruin.  You assimilate or don't play.  I am not ashamed to say I do envy that and wish Buffalo had it's own identity after 50 years....at least one that I can get behind.

And let’s be honest, outside of a few players, this team has not connected with the fan base in over a decade.  Nobody really loves this team.  Thus the empty seats and invasion of other teams fan base.  It’s barely mediocre and something is missing from the soul of the team.

Being a Sabres fan is almost a habit ...  I like it, but could break it if I tried.  That wasn’t true years ago.  This vexes me.  I know no more tightly knit, passionate, sports fans (honorable mention to Saints fans ...  who dat, indeed).  You’d think, given time, an owner, GM and coach could all get on the same page.  “He’s our kinda guy.”  I had great hope that Pegula, of all people, would get it, after the carpetbagger era.

That look on Marchand's face.  That's the reason I'd leave my skate a little look and try to saw his head off on the ice.  ***** this guy!

He's the Julian Edelman of the Bruins. Little scumbag punk.

If the refs are going to be calling a bunch of BS phantom penalties against us...might as well get our money's worth and inflict some pain while we're at it.  Montour should have just body slammed that little #63 @#$%! into the ice while he was at it.

Problem is, we don't have anyone willing to inflict pain

well, that's the game right there.

Sam’s got 30 pts in 38 games, more than respectable.  I’d like to see him find a next level.  He’s been on the cusp, it seams to me, for a year and a half.  I’m ready, Sam.
