Taro T Posted December 20, 2019 Report Posted December 20, 2019 This is awful. But, considering they lost their captain and CLEARLY best player 15 minutes before game time in a hostile rink with CLEARLY their lesser goalie scheduled to start, there was almost no way this wouldn't be a train wreck. Let Hutton watch the rest of this debacle, find a way to win the period or come out 1-1 this 1 and get ready to play LA with Ullmark & hopefully with Eichel; but if he can't go, at least it won't be a guy punch right before they start. Yes, they were mentally fragile tonight and everything fell apart with Sheary's goal, but they have to just forget this one and come back ready on Saturday. It will be a test for Krueger, and IMHO, one he'll pass. And to answer the q about lineup a few posts above. Sabres were going to healthy scratch Sheary running 11-7, but he came in when Eichel became a scratch and they stayed 11-7. Quote
John Tucker Posted December 20, 2019 Report Posted December 20, 2019 first shot on goal in 17 minutes of play.... WTF Quote

That there's "no way" we won't be a "train wreck" missing ONE player is preposterous. And if we have CLEARLY such an inferior goalie, WTF is he doing starting games for us if we are trying to make the playoffs? Why don't we have a different back up? Quote
John Tucker Posted December 20, 2019 Report Posted December 20, 2019 Flyers looking like a team that has a lot of good, young bodies. Guess that's the byproduct of high draft picks for several years in a row... Oh, wait... that's us Quote

Keeping struggling goal tenders in is bad coaching. IMO I guarantee you RK is more about playing through moments like this than giving up and trying to make moments like this seem less bad. Quote

With this thinking, if Hutton gives up no goals in this period, it is a moral victory? (serious question) Quote
