Trade value (if any) of Kyle Okposo?

If the entire team worked as hard as Okposo, I doubt we'd be talking about trading him.

But it should be. You can make a strong case that it's our 2nd best line right now, but if that stays the case we are in deep trouble. We have a solid 1st line because we have a true superstar and a hot rookie on it, and we have a very good 4th line if they were on a team as a 4th line. If the rest were even +/- zero lines we'd be doing pretty good, but they aren't. Skinner's the biggest problem right now, not Kyle.

He actually kind of is.  Only 11 mins per game.  Only F’s who have been playing less are Girgensons, ERod, Asplund, Lazar, and some of those guys have been in/out of the lineup or generally skate with Okposo.

Kyle works his butt off most nights. I can’t complain about his work ethic. But he basically has one move one on one. And he’s well past it. Having a six million dollar man on your 4th line isn’t good. Unless he produces at a six million dollar pace. But what do you do ?

Nobody wants Kyle Okposo...he will be here until that contract expires or he retires.

Probably the same with Jeff Skinner too...what an awful contract.

Your thoughts on Skinner?  Mine are the same; he's showing up, he puts in effort.  His price was high, certainly considerably higher than Okposo's.

How about this...Hold onto him, he's pretty much untradeable, doing OK in his current role (albeit overpriced). When expansion draft comes up for Seattle, he can be one of the unprotected. Not saying he will be selected but at least you can save somebody you may want to protect.

Probably another round of compliance buyouts in the next CBA.  Biding time I suppose.
