Carmel Corn Posted December 9, 2019 Report Posted December 9, 2019 So correct me if I'm wrong, but 3 PP's and NO SOG for all three combined. As far as special teams, our coaching is in over their heads here and management will probably do nothing. Our goaltending and offense in general is not good enough overcome being -1 or -2 each game because of crappy special teams. Quote

If so, best chance of the period I was trying to edumucate a friend of mine today who asked what a shot on goal is. I pontificated that there has to be an intent to score. So I don't think that dump-in would count. I'll try to confirm whether it was counted as a shot. Quote

SwampD Posted December 9, 2019 Author Report Posted December 9, 2019 (edited) Did Duffer just say that we have gone three power plays tonight without a shot on goal?! If that’s true, someone needs to be fired tonight! Edited December 9, 2019 by SwampD Quote

Stoner Posted December 9, 2019 Report Posted December 9, 2019 From nhl.com (but I can't be sure when the info. was published): Shot on Goal If a player shoots the puck with the intention of scoring and if that shot would have gone in the net had the goaltender not stopped it, the shot is recorded as a "shot on goal". Isn't this sad that we are researching what counts as a SOG? It was so low that we are looking for scraps to possibly move the number to something higher that what we can count on one hand.
