If not, expect it's probably safer to be on the road with Mittelstadt on the ice with defensive focused guys in a limited role rather than having him out against tougher competition with nobody to bail him out should he get outmatched. But if they had 1 more quality skater in the top 6 would almost be willing to try Reinhart in Mojo's role if things go sideways with Rodrigues there. (Might even be willing to try it with tonight's lineup as is.) He's been quicker and stronger than I'd expected heading into this season, which accounts for the partial about face. Interesting. Tonight would be a great opportunity to try that with Reinhart. 1 Quote

The players he's acquired, as a whole, lean towards being good analytically. Tulsky also traded Skinner to us for Pu, so there's that Two things Botterill indeed makes moves that are analytically based, yet his coach continues to play the Risto McCabe in First Pairing Minutes, something they are woefully unable to do. McCabe has been a train wreck lately and yet Colin Miller is sitting in the press box tonight. Skinner wanted out of Carolina and you know the reason why he was willing to waive his NTC for Buffalo, Toronto and Pittsburgh. The latter two did not have the cap space. They did the best they could for a return. Edited November 14, 2019 by Brawndo Quote

Taro T Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 Just now, Brawndo said: Johansson is out through the weekend per Krueger. That stinks. Hopefully Rodrigues is up to the task assigned to him by Krueger; because if he isn't this could get ugly. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 So, this whole Carolina vs Buffalo thingie has me confused. Is the game being played in Buffalo? To me, the vs thingie means the Sabres are the visitor and if they were home it would say Carolina @ thingie Buffalo. Oh well, carry on, as it really doesn't matter. MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!! Quote
Randall Flagg Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 Colin Miller is the best defenseman we have healthy-scratched in many years. I think he's been better than McCabe (not going to sit because of his A) and Dahlin (hard to see him sitting) both recently and overall, even if his play has tailed off a bit. 3 Quote
darksabre Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 Johansson out through the weekend really sucks. That's 3 games. They need to win two of these without the only other good center they have. I don't know how that's even going to work. Quote

dudacek Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 Both Miller and McCabe have dropped off, but each remains too good to be sitting. Especially when Evan Rodrigues is centring our second line. Time to make a deal, Jason. 4 Quote

Traditionally, but maybe only for me, vs was to indicate that your team is the visitor and @ is used when your team is at home. Again, it's probably just me. 1 Quote

Carolina has our number badly over the last few years, but Chicago and Ottawa could each be relatively easy wins even without a full strength lineup. They're bad teams The Sabres beat a full strength Pittsburgh team during one of their cup seasons with both Eichel AND O'Reilly injured a few falls ago. We don't like Evan at 2C for good reason - I'm pretty sure he was literally the 1C in that game. It happens 1 Quote

woods-racer Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 Pi, you need to sum that up in a nice short one sentence summation or else it just looks like a daily temperature chart for Celsius people. 1 Quote

Eleven Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 Just use "at" consistently in every GDT title and put the home team second; that resolves every possible ambiguity and makes it easier to find GDTs. 3 Quote
