Eichel has a laundry list of flaws, and Pastrnak is great, but he's playing with two of the best overall hockey players on the planet. The number of players who could swap out with Jack, and make a meaningful difference (like, jump the gap to playoffs) on this team while changing NOTHING else, is very small. As has been the case since forever, the best path forward is adding more good players to the ones we already have, focusing our efforts and assets on that The grass is always greener and our roster outside of Jack and his top line friends is about as bare bones as it can get in this league of parity Edited November 15, 2019 by Randall Flagg 3 Quote
... Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 And Botterill was on the pregame... WTF. I think I'm officially going to occupy the anti-Botterill bunker. Someone get him a speech therapist so he can intelligently thank the Pegulas for the opportunity. Quote
bunomatic Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Well. Not sure why I expected any different. 1 Quote
jad1 Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 I'm beginning to think that hiring a Soccer guy to coach an NHL team wasn't a great idea. Quote
Nitro60 Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Best part of this game was that high light of Rob Ray with a knock out 1 Quote

But if I was to be completely honest with myself, which I am, 10 million a season for this guy? No thanks. He'd make a decent 2nd line center though, at least in my dream of a competitive team. My take? Find a sucker, drain them for everything you can to right the ship here. Shaves that money off the cap and move on from it. 1 Quote

R_Dudley Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Ok a little late to the game and looks like the Sabres are too. OMG, this is deja vue that will not do. Started here before turning on the TV. Quote

Sidc3000 Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Yeah I have a feeling there will be some booing going on very shortly Quote
Tondas Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 The Sabres are doin' the same ol’ dance, now (They're the Sabres, goin’ through the motions) They know you'll get to like it if you give it a chance, now (They're the Sabres, goin’ through the motions) Quote

Adding top six forwards to the four good forwards on the roster is the better plan. Unfortunately, Botterill favors trading top six forwards for trash. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Never make those passes to Skinner where the only opportunity is to one-time it. He's never scored on one of those with us it'll be a turnover Quote
Sidc3000 Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 The Canes had as many SOG as the Sabres did on that PP Quote

Pimlach Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Best scoring chance on that PP was by Carolina on an Eichel turnover. Quote
Cascade Youth Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Maybe the worst power play of the worst period I’ve ever seen and that’s really saying something with this franchise. Sell the team Terry. 1 Quote

Randall Flagg Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 My anger peaks at such different times from other Sabres fans Last year the peak was in mid December This year I was most angry with the team in August/September Everyone else is ramping up and I'm still cooling down! 3 Quote

The definition of insanity. IN ... Joker, johansson, Lazar, Vesey, Olofsson, Montour, Gilmore OUT ... Risto’s never will. He hits but mostly with late crosschecks after the whistle. McCabe has no grit. We we need to trade something to get something. Get rid of these two before their value goes away.
