darksabre Posted November 11, 2019 Author Report Posted November 11, 2019 Colorado might be a sneaky candidate to trade with. Despite their injuries they've got depth scoring. And their defense is a little sketchy. Plus they have cap space. I think I'd like them as a trade partner. 1 Quote

I proposed Risto for Bennett and Hamonic as a general money in/money out trade, but I probably need a pick or a prospect coming back in that trade from Calgary too. Quote

Hamonic is a UFA after this season. That's one minus. Maybe Andersson? That way it is a general Rasmus in/ Rasmus out trade. 2 Quote

It's just a cap dump for Calgary to make space and then it comes off of our books sooner or later. 1 Quote
Torpedo Forecheck Posted November 11, 2019 Report Posted November 11, 2019 Jeez I hope so, we are such a soft team it was embarrasing to watch last weekend. We need to make a deal, and I suspect JB knows this. 1 Quote

Seeing him live on Saturday was a game changer for me. Only seems to be "tough" after the whistle. Is be surprised in GM's didn't see this too. Not sure what his return would be in a trade. I've always been an ardent Risto supporter, but this weekend was the camel that broke my straw back. I saw what you saw essentially, and I have really lost all hope in him becoming much of anything outside of minute muncher. 1 Quote

Radar Posted November 12, 2019 Report Posted November 12, 2019 I'm sure he wants to make a trade. As they say it takes at least one partner and he knows a bad trade would likely put him in the hot seat. We've gone through enough coaches and whatever the problems are it's not going to fall on coaching. It will be the GM next to go in my opinion. Quote

They built a cushion in October but I'd rather not use it all up this month. Good post, good topic. The @deluca67 .500 paradigm continues to be a useful one, for me. It's not a determinative value, but, as a practical matter, it has proven to be a reliable signpost of whether your team's headed in the right direction. That Aud Smell Posted November 12, 2019 Report Posted November 12, 2019 P.S./Edit: Just looking at last year's final standings. The teams that made the playoffs were all above @deluca67 .500. The good teams were well above it. The teams that squeaked in were a few games clear of it. Whither @deluca67 btw? Quote

Does it happen? And if it does, what do you think the trade ends up being? Those two are about as credible as Eklund. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted November 12, 2019 Report Posted November 12, 2019 (edited) (Leafs in 2017 made the playoffs but finished below DeLuca 500 -- 40-42, by that measure.) (Flyers in 2016 made the playoffs and finished at DeLuca .500.) (I think these are the exceptions that prove the rule.) Edited November 12, 2019 by That Aud Smell Quote
