Popular Post jsb Posted November 8, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted November 8, 2019 (edited) VS The return of Sabre hockey in Sweden against the dangerous Tampa Bay Lightning. It appears several SabreSpacers will attend the game and hopefully get seen in the crowd. With a multitude of players from Sweden on both teams especially the Sabres, it should give some added incentive to take some points in the beginning to be crowded playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. WOW, there I said it, it's November and we're still in the hunt. It is early but the team even after a bit of a losing streak is still regarded nationally as a team to be reckoned with moving forward. Sabres are just asking to take a chance on them.* Courtesy of: https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com TONIGHT’S/ This Afternoons GAME LIGHTNING at SABRES This is the first of four meetings between the Sabres and Lightning this season. THINK GLOBALLY Tonight’s game is the second of three NHL games to be contested in Europe this season as part of the 2019 NHL Global Series, following the season-opening matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers in Prague, Czech Republic. The final game of the series will take place between the Sabres and Lightning tomorrow at Ericsson Globe. This marks the third straight year (and the eighth season overall) that the NHL has contested regular-season games in Europe. This is the second time the Sabres have been part of those games, as the team defeated the Anaheim Ducks in Helsinki, Finland and the Los Angeles Kings in Berlin, Germany as part of the 2011 NHL Premiere. HOME AWAY FROM HOME The Sabres are playing a regular-season home game away from the team’s home arena for the eighth time in franchise history. SabresBaltimore Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 This is probably our most important game of the season so far. Really both of these games. We're on a 3 game skid and while we looked better in our last game we still haven't managed to correct ourselves. Hopefully the team is bonding over the long roadtrip and with all the Swedes on our team I'm hoping they will shine over the next 2 days. We need to get back on track with a big win (or ideally pair of wins) in Sweden while all the other teams in the league are busy playing more games and moving ahead of us in the point race. Let's Go Buf-fa-lo! Quote
inkman Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 Normally this is where I chime in and bitch about how many times the announcers are going to say "tonight" for an afternoon game but since it actually will be night there, I guess I'll just have to get over it. Let's go Buffalo! 1 3 Quote

For the 50th year anniversary I keep trying to put fresh items in there that some may or may not remember. One thing I'm surprised at that no-one has commented on is the array of Sabres jerseys I try to incorporate in these pics. Even in the same era, I try to pick out the slight differences in if not all, most of them. Edited November 8, 2019 by jsb 1 Quote
miles Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 (edited) Sabres 4-2 I always loved the black sabre head Sabres Jersey the best Edited November 8, 2019 by miles 1 Quote
steveoath Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 Go Sabres. This isn't the Tampa team from last year, we have a great opportunity to gain some points over this weekend., Quote
sweetlou Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 I am going with a 4-2 win tonight and 3-2 OT loss tomorrow. If Sabres can get 3 of 4 pts on this trip that would be great. Olofsson gets first even strength goal this weekend. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 Nu Tar Vi Dom! Let's go, Buffalo! Quote

Thanks for the kind thoughts but I think what I wrote wasn't from lack of appreciation but from pointing out items that may have been missed. I actually am quite amused concerning the logo comments. To me it's an ongoing joke that I'm not offended by in the least. 1 Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 Go Sabres! Will have to secretly listen to first period while at work. Last day time game during the work day I remember was a playoff game against Bruins in 1982, I listened in high school biology class! Bruins won 9-0 :( Quote

I mean, it's nice our brothers and sisters in Sweden get to see some live NHL games, but it does make for a long week for the rest of us. Quote
WildCard Posted November 8, 2019 Report Posted November 8, 2019 It's been two weeks since I've seen a game, I'm starving. Leaving work early today for this Quote
