matter2003 Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 Kreuger leaves and the club sets a dubious record, losing 9-0 to Leicester City, the worst Premier League defeat ever... In fact it was so bad that Southampton is donating the players weekly wages to charity since they clearly didn't earn them. https://sports.yahoo.com/southampton-donate-players-wages-to-charity-after-90-mauling-by-leicester-074247194.html Quote
sabills Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 To be fair they weren't great when he was there either. But that was straight embarrassing. Leicester isn't even really considered a top club. Quote

They finished in their 2 highest positions ever in the premier league while he was there...7th and 8th...not great but not bad for what they would term a "minnow" in the scheme of England's soccer hierarchy. They also qualified for the UEFA Europa League for the first time with the 7th place finish. Again, context is everything in Soccer. If you aren't one of the "haves" in terms of money, attendance, stadium, training grounds, youth programs, merchandise sales and fan support, etc then you have an unbelievably hard uphill climb in those leagues...far harder than any of the North American Sports...they don't have a "draft" to give bad teams a chance to get good/great players on entry level contracts where they are pretty much stuck for 4+ years. That Aud Smell Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 I also read something about how the ownership at Southampton is a total nightmare. That may have been part of the reason RaKru left. Quote
... Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 Is there a conclusion to be drawn here? HELICOPTER CRASHES INTO GARAGE HOURS AFTER MAN PARKS CAR INSIDE "If the man didn't park his car in the garage, the car wouldn't have been destroyed," said insurance adjuster Cheatum Badde. "I'm not sure the owner of the car was in the right, here." The owner of the car, 34 year old Aryu Squrewed, is being investigated for using his garage as a parking location for his car. Police say there have been reports of the car being seen parked in the garage going back months. Quote
