Popular Post jsb Posted October 28, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted October 28, 2019 VS Your league leading Buffalo Sabres are back at home tonight against the much improved Arizona Coyotes. Yes league leading Sabres, can you deny this team anymore after they have had a goal differential of +12 which is a point per game and 3rd in the league behind the Bruins and Avs. Is this team a playoff contender finally, do you believe in this magical season?? With 4 players in the top 41 in scoring in the league and all 4 forward lines with a member in the top 7 in team scoring the forwards are doing their best to keep the team rolling. Some complaints concerning the team after their 2-0 victory in the 3rd game in 4 nights but those same Red Wings took the Blues to OT before succumbing in a 5-4 loss. Jack Eichel has also scored the 3rd most points before his 23rd birthday in team history. Yes today is his birthday. Can this team keep their playoff run going, (do you believe in magic)*?? Courtesy of: https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com TONIGHT’S GAME COYOTES at SABRES This is the first of two meetings between the Sabres and Coyotes this season. Last meeting: Buffalo defeated Arizona 3-1 in Buffalo on Dec. 13, 2018. Next meeting: Saturday, Feb. 29 in Arizona The Sabres are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games vs. the Coyotes; 6-2-2 at home. This is the 81st game all-time between Buffalo and Arizona; Buffalo has a 48-23-9 series record. The Sabres are 26-8-7 on the road against the Coyotes all-time. THIS DATE IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 7-6-6 all-time on October 28. October 28, 1981: Ric Seiling scores his 100th NHL goal in a 6-2 win vs. the St. Louis Blues. October 28, 1992: Alexander Mogilny scores twice as the Sabres and Maple Leafs battle to a 4-4 tie. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW The Sabres have scored the first goal in nine of their 12 games so far this season, going 8-1-0 in those contests. Only the Washington Capitals (6-1-2) had scored first in as many games as Buffalo entering play Sunday. Buffalo is 14-3-1 in its last 18 games against Arizona, including a 9-2-1 record since the beginning of the 2013-14 season. The Sabres have the No. 4 power play in the league, converting on a league-high 13 of their 45 power plays this season (28.9%). Entering play Sunday, the Sabres joined the Washington Capitals as one of just two teams with four players with at least five goals each this season (Eichel – 6, Olofsson – 6, Skinner – 6, Reinhart – 5). SabresBaltimore Posted October 28, 2019 Report Posted October 28, 2019 I think this game is almost as important as Friday's win over Detroit was. Not only is it important to bounce back from a bad loss like New York put on us, but it's important to keep the momentum going and string together several wins before losing again. Plus we're perfect at home still, need to keep that going. (Although selfishly I care most about them winning their 11/16 game against Ottawa since I'm driving up for that one. Supersitious me thinks it'd be better chances for me if they lose at least 1 home game before then. But I don't want them to lose any games. But alternating wins and losses would result in a .500 record, so it's important to have another big game. It looks like Arizona isn't the same sort of pushover we're used to, but still a very beatable team. Let's go Buf-fa-lo! Quote
LabattBlue Posted October 28, 2019 Report Posted October 28, 2019 This is the end of a 4 game northeast roadie for the desert dogs who want to get back home quickly. The Sabres will make them pay... Sabres 5 Coyotes 2 Eichel, Skinner, Reinhart, Girgensons and Dahlin Quote

I've always wondered why they didn't do a third jersey that is just the crescent moon logo jersey the mascot is wearing. 1 Quote

It's vibrant, the colors are excellently desert-y without the sand, and the coyote is playing hockey with its stick (unlike the Panthers who were breaking their sticks in half). And the border/edging detail is slick. It's one of the busier kits, but it ties the room together. 1 Quote

I thought it was nice because it seemed to draw inspiration from Native American art and style. 2 1 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted October 28, 2019 Report Posted October 28, 2019 The charts tell me that the Coyotes are good -- as in, really good, so far. And they've done that after missing out on the 2 big prizes in the 2015 draft. Let's go, Buffalo. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! 4 Quote

But since i don't want to see his damn face on my screen I'll just say it. "WRONG!" But, you know, to each their own. Go Sabres. Quote

Mustache of God Posted October 28, 2019 Report Posted October 28, 2019 I really hope the Sabres look like a competent hockey team tonight. I can accept a close loss but if they come out and play Housley-brand hockey and lay an egg like the Bills yesterday I'll have some one-buffalo malaise. Also the Kachina logo is the best sports logo that's been released since the 90s. 1 1 Quote
