Stoner Posted October 23, 2019 Report Posted October 23, 2019 Sorry if this was already mentioned (I skimmed the thread quickly), but that shot from the goal line near the boards to the left of the net that went off the back of the goaltender and out the other side was pretty cool. It takes a certain amount of confidence to even try that. I think Vesey is a diamond in the rough that needs a bit more polishing. 2 Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 23, 2019 Report Posted October 23, 2019 I think it's pretty obvious that he has been working on some new moves. He has to be using those awesome new training shoes. 1 Quote

I really think that Kruger has a defensive specialist on each line. On the Larsson line it's all of them but if I had to pick one it seems like Okposo is quickest to get on the backcheck. On the Mitts line it's Vesey; on the Mojo line it's Sobs; on the Eichel line it's Reino or sometimes Jack himself (those two feed off each other so well they can easily switch the roll). I wouldn't be surprised if Krueger actually has other roles defined, possibly setup and finisher. Again, that's not how the Larsson line works because they're more about possession than finishing, but on the other lines the center is the setup man and the non-defensive winger is the finisher. This could be part of RFK's philosophy of not having to think and just playing. "You have one job. You don't have to do everything." Of course if you see that one of your linemates needs help with his job, it's cool to help him out. But each player has a primary job. So if Vesey pitches in only 6 or 8 goals, but the line generates another 30-40 between Mitts and Sheary, he's done his job. 1 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 23, 2019 Report Posted October 23, 2019 I think he is the worst hockey player I’ve ever seen. He makes last year’s Sobotka and Scandella look like all-stars. Quote

And possibly one way to do that is to take the pressure off him by telling him to worry primarily about defense and don't worry about scoring. 1 minute ago, GASabresIUFAN said: I think he is the worst hockey player I’ve ever seen. So familiar with Buffalo's east side i read this as needing more pierogi's, Haluska, and smoked Kielbasa. So just how does that improve his Hockey ? 1 Quote

pi2000 Posted October 23, 2019 Report Posted October 23, 2019 Sporting a TRpm of +2.17 I'd say he's doing just fine. Quote

No, we just forget that every 100 point season comes with its four-point nights and 3-game slumps. Jack Eichel will be fine. Quote

LTS Posted October 24, 2019 Report Posted October 24, 2019 Well, when you start 8-1-1 you have to find something to critique.... 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted October 24, 2019 Report Posted October 24, 2019 1 hour ago, LTS said: Well, when you start 8-1-1 you have to find something to critique.... That's just it isn't it? The board is actually fairly quiet compared to last year. Everyone so used to finding faults and simply arguing over which player is the bigger problem or if it's the coach or the players and so on.......it's hard to adjust to things going really well. refreshing, but strange. He'll have to watch his step to avoid injury though. That is a great episode, and includes a guest appearance by a young Bryan Cranston. 2 Quote
