13 games in Oct, what's a reasonable expectation for number of wins and losses?

Away:

  • PIT
  • CBJ
  • ANA
  • LAK
  • SJS
  • NYR
  • DET

Home:

  • NJD
  • MTL
  • FLA
  • DAL
  • SJS
  • ARI

I'll say 2-4-1 on the road, and 3-1-2 at home.. giving them 13 points.

Should beat LAK and DET, maybe get a point from ANA.

Some western conf teams at home should find some wins there.

Win or lose I really just want to see these guys play hard for Krueger.      We should have a pretty good idea early on whether or not they're buying in.

All of those home games excepting Arizona look pretty tough.

Also, five of the road games are against teams you could easily argue are worse than the Sabres. (though I personally wouldn't make that argument for CBJ)

October is a weird month in the NHL so none of the games are gimmes and none of them are out of our reach. That is true always, but it's extra true early.

We're not going to have a good handle on these guys until ~20-30 games in as always.

Man I hate being in a division with Price, Rask, Vasi, Bobrovsky

Especially when those 4 goalies are going to have good teams in front of them.

6W's.

They shock Pittsburgh, win in Anaheim & Detroit.  Go back to their tradition victories over the Snarks and also beat the Desert.Dogs.

But that has them starting the year 0-4 at home.  Maybe they beat Joisey playing them before all the new pieces start to gel.  If they do, then 7-6.

The best most-forgotten-about game from last season was in Anaheim. We destroyed them. The goal count was narrow, but it really felt like we had a good team that night.

Of course, they were still like 5-1 or something at the time, and we didn't know (well, the stats people were already yelling about it) that they'd fall off a cliff

7-4-2

Away: (3-2-2)

PIT - OTL - 3-4

CBJ - W - 5-2

ANA - OTL - 3-4

LAK - W - 4-1

SJS - L - 1-4

NYR - L - 3-2

DET - W - 4-2

Home: (4-2-0)

NJD W - 5-4

MTL W - 2-1 in OT

FLA - L - 3-4

DAL - L 2-4

SJS  - W 4-2

ARI - W 5-1

I think our new pace catches some team by surprise.  We almost always beat SJS and never beat FLA.  We have typically done pretty well out West. I think we are better then Det, Mon, NJD, ARI, CBJ and the LAK and will play like it.

That's about right.  I had 3 wins.  But it could be 4.

I don't know, ask me after I've seen them play a few games.  As my grand-pappy used to say, "you never know what's in the pickle-barrel until you've taken the lid off it..."

So once we hit November, we can ask you?
