Bettman mentioned that the 2020-21 Season will try to be a full 82 Games, possibility starting as late as January 1st, 2021

Stupid. Just do a shortened season so playoffs start on time.

So, how many years will it take to get back to an October-April schedule?  Because they MIGHT be able to squeeze in 82 games by the end of May, but that would almost push the Finals back into early August.  Would they really give the SC only 1 month off before TC 2 years in a row?  '21-'22 would almost have to wait until mid-November to start & if they really pushed it they MIGHT be back on a "normal" schedule by Seattle's 2nd season.

Anybody else remember how bad the ice in Dallas was back in June '99?

Who expects any semblance of "good" ice in Miami, Tampa, Phoenix, or Dallas (or heck even St. Loius or Raleigh) come June, July, or potentially in a long playoff run in August?

Refrigeration technology hasn't improved THAT much in 20 years.

NOOOOOOOO. Does anyone want the playoffs to be in July and August every year? Urgh. Of course the NHL is going to use this terrible circumstance to try and shift to a stupider permanent schedule.

They've kept the playoffs from moving further back to keep from conflicting directly w/ the NBA.  (Staying in the same round as the NBA rather than a round ahead would likely hurt their ratings significantly.  Which means they'll try to annually end in August.  After the NBA is done, but before the NFL is playing more than bad exhibitions, & before the pennant race really heats up in baseball.

IMHO, this is an insanely poor idea, which likely means August becomes the new SCF's month.  Friggin' morons.

Who wants to bring a sweater with them in August or even June. Did you see the temp today? You’ll have more pneumonia than wins.

Nine months without SAbres hockey versus nine years without good Sabres hockey?

Actually its possible that it has, since then they have technology to play games outdoors even in places that may not be seeing temperatures below freezing at the time.

Well the good thing is that with Botterill in charge, theres a chance we wont have to worry about seeing playoff hockey around here until everything is back to normal

They played outdoors in a Vegas casino parking lot back in 1991.  The ice in Dallas 8 years later was slush.  No compelling reason to believe it wouldn't still be during the summer.

They want to avoid going up against the NFL?  No sunday games early in the year.  I guess you're still left with the monday and thursday night games, but they could minimize those days too if they really wanted to.

Imagine if they simply just didn't have Sunday games for the 2 months they overlap.

It’s not just about Sunday games. It’s been the same throughout history, attendance and viewership throughout the week goes up after football season.

Pro tip. You can skip ahead. She is brutal.

I stuck around to see the commentary about the Sabres.   Last segment.  The relative tightness of each teams T-shirt made the intolerable more  tolerable.

She lost me at the Bruins shirt.  F'n Brad Park.  Never even got to 7 o'clock, let alone 11pm  (if you get my drift).

Not even surprised. But hey... if I knew anything about prospects I would get paid for it.

Don't be so hard on your self.

Most people who are paid to evaluate talent in the sporting world aren't very good at it either.

Make sense. Many people aren't going to commit 3-9 hours of football on Sunday and 2-3 NHL games the rest of the week.
