If Minnesota sold Zucker you gotta think they're going to sell even more.

That was a heck of a trade for Minny, IMO

It’s not bad.  Late 1st and Calen Addison for 3.5 years (4 playoffs) of Zucker at a reasonable price.

Galchenyuk is probably going to play half of a lost season for Minny then walk.  He is FA.  He isn’t actually adding much value here.

Nice return for Zucker. Speedy winger with some touch, Crosby and/or Malkin will love him.

Looks like teams are starting to arm up, can't wait for the 5th rounder for Bogo to come in, that one excites me, and the 4th for Rodriquez, I'm tingling...………..all while our former shining Sabres spiral down in to the pit of NHL despair and end up thumping in to a splatted piece of Plato thrown off a 40 story building roof. But hey, the draft position is getting better...…………..SQUIRREL!!!!!...………………...

nothing to see here, moving along.

Oh it's all about Addison and the first.  Galyenchuk, or however it's spelled, is damaged goods.  Has he actually travelled across all four divisions in just two years?

TSN said they might be looking to still flip Galchenyuk further. Pitt trying to make a run before they are too old, or at least their stars are too old. Like the Bruins, their window is closing.

People here have been saying the Bruins window is closing since the tank years.

Then the Bruins got Pastrnak and McAvoy. It really is amazing what competent drafting does. Or you could draft like Buffalo and pray that in 6 years we get an Olofsson out of it.

I've always believed context matters in these situations. Those two enter into a stable, winning organization and flourish. No shocker. What do they become in Buffalo?

The same thing or close to it. Pastrnak was a good player at 18 and 19. He broke out at 20.

Same thing with McAvoy. He was a good player when drafted with a high ceiling. Started at age 20 and was fine.

Both would have provided the same thing in Buffalo. Especially with how Rochester has been functioning of late. If the organization is so broken that really good players can't succeed than we should fold the team and move it out. Or maybe we should start drafting the right kind of talent.

Wow, the post becomes incredibly sadistic if it is in fact Plato.

How exactly does drafting Pastrnak and McAvoy in the first round become a comparison for taking Olofsson in the 7th?  Is it a continued rant about taking a defenseman over a forward, because, you know... McAvoy.  Is it about always taking NCAA guys over CHL guys, because once again... McAvoy.  Is it about taking the european forward instead of the CHL guy, because... Pastrnak.

If we want take a shot and talk about competent drafting, it gets pretty intersting if you look at the Bruins recent track record.  There's not a whole lot of CHL on that list either, even in the first round.  The only noticeable CHL run is the much maligned trio of Zboril/DeBrusk/Senyshyn.

How the ***** do people not understand that it isn't about the league or the position. It is about the level of talent. THE LEVEL OF ***** TALENT. Dear ***** lord it was never about the CHL. It was about ignoring the talent. Let me say it one more time, it was about Botterill drafting mediocre defender prospects over more talents players. Talent. Talent. Not CHL, but talent. As the CHL has talent the fact we ignore it is pretty ***** stupid.

Depleting their already bad D prospect pool even more.   When Letang goes down again they will be *****.
