Pretty sure that's the biggest annual cap hit for a D-man. That keeps $9/yr for Dahlin quite realistic (if not a tad high). 1 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 ^ Yeah. I read Josi at $9M as good for the Sabres with Dahlin, if anything. With the way Dahlin’s been playing of late, I find myself thinking less of the contract he will command. 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 idk if it will happen but I could see the Leafs being the team that fades down the stretch. I am sure I will be wrong but I think there's a chance. Quote

Especially when the cap-hit estimates for Dahlin flung around this board over the summer were as high as $12mil if memory serves. Quote
Eleven Posted October 29, 2019 Author Report Posted October 29, 2019 Well, you all are either considerably more pessimistic than I am regarding Dahlin's development, or more optimistic regarding what he will command as a salary. Quote

A $9 million dollar defenseman better damn-well be good! We're not talking Scandella level here. Quote

The Loafs failing in the spring is like maple leaves falling in the fall. It's only noticeable when it doesn't happen. ? 1 1 Quote

Enough to acknowledge the player he is and his vast potential, while at the same time not “showing up” the team captain. Just a gut feeling. Quote
