im not far from penn state, maybe 1.5 hours or so. had i paid attention sooner that this game was going to be played there, i might have gone. i could have left from work and made it on time. 

 

EDIT: meh, penn state is not where i thought it was, its actually 4 hours

Yeah you can always tune in to watch the start of the pregame show with NHL TV.

For those who mentioned using the Opera browser's VPN, does it just grant access via the Sabres website if it thinks you're outside the country?

All you have to do is go into the browser's advanced settings and manually turn the VPN on, and it lets you watch it, for whatever reason.

I went to the sabres site and started it, and it's playing some animation with sabres vs penguins.

EDIT: stream is working for me (in San Diego) without VPN

I was watching it on sabres.com but i switched to a site i used last year from reddit. Picture quality is 720p vs the 480p i was getting on nhl.com/sabres

I hate how on the official site they dont allow u to change the quality

Our guys are the black w/ yellow trim.

Theirs are the white w/ yellow and black trim.

It IS a home game after all. ;)  (Wish ALL the home preseason games could be played out of state.)

Yeah, it's quite poor. I thought maybe it was just my computer installing Windows updates but I guess not.
