Joe Murphy is Homeless

This came up on Schopp and Bulldog today and I had not heard about it previously.
I found this article from last year which is quite good.  

My #2 team has always been the Edmonton Oilers and I remember Murphy fondly from the old Kid Line days.

Very interesting and sad situation.

Pretty sure there was a decent conversation about it when it came out last year.

Examples like these make me think we aren't any further along than we were in the gladiator days.

I walked about 6 km of Kenora's waterfront and downtown core yesterday. Not sure if he is still around there. NHLPA and alumni like Trevor Kidd helped him out last summer. TSN had a story on his sad turn of events.

I subscribed to The Athletic about a week ago.  It’s a bargain.   Accordingly, a link, below.  It’s a scary story about Kyle Okposo.  I had no idea.  Sabres fan, hockey fan, MUST READ.  Many of you may have, already.  It’s a year old.

I remember Murphy and enjoyed watching him.  I hope he accepts help.

I am glad that he accepted the help, but that was a year ago.  I don't really want to know if there is an update, unless it is more good news.

Maybe. I'm also on the fence about whether or not I should feel guilty about it, though.

I kinda think the fact that they played hockey is a red herring.

I’ve been worried about whether KO should ever play again since that injury.  I honestly think it’s his best interest to retire now with his health.  

I’d hate to read a story about him like the one about Joe Murphy.
