Yeah that was his main problem it sounds like. He had the right ideas, he just couldn't communicate it to a bunch of guys that weren't interested in a 200 level stats class every day after physical exhaustion

Right on.  If you use analytics as a "Means", the "Ends" will take care of themselves.
