John Scott Jokingly Choked Out Rookie Risto

Sorta. It was in retaliation to Risto shoving his jock strap in Scott's face while he was taping his sticks in the stick room. Scott wasn't trying to hurt him but basically knocked him unconscious and panicked since it was the prized first round pick he was choking out. "was all fun and games until..." I think he said.

Can you change the title to reflect it happened when Risto was a rookie? Not that I'm a huge Risto fan, it between the speeding thread and this I had a panic that he was in some sort of downward spiral.

Wow, I never heard about this.  Bizarre that a rookie would do something like that to a known veteran fighter.  

Could this possibly speak to the theory of Risto not being all that bright?

I think that's a pretty stupid thing. I was going to say "whatever, i got choked out by a drunk friend a few years ago and it's fine" then I realized I haven't seen or spoken to him since

I love the “fuller” version of the story where JS says they had a rookie coach that was telling him to get off the ice, and JS refused. 

I hope JS keeps putting up more of these stories.

That seems on par for me. I'd guess he didn't mean, "if I play fewer minutes we'd make the playoffs" rather than "I'd play fewer minutes for the good of the team if it meant playoffs".

It struck me as an admission on his part that he was being overused to the detriment of the team.
