dudacek Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 (edited) I do like your thought process though: Risto and a prospect for a better player than Risto, (or two players combined who are better than Risto) and cap space is a model that works. Edited June 24, 2019 by dudacek Quote

But you'd think it would be due diligence to talk to NJ and NY, no? It's also possible they simply had a second tier of three or four guys after Kakko and Hughes and wanted to get into that. For all we know, Cozens was in it and he did drop to them. Botterill has pretty clear that they absolutely loved a lot of players that went before and after their pick. Quote

I get what you're saying, but did you watch it? IMO, it wasn't delivered as a rote media reply. I think there was some pretty healthy debate prior to the pick, with the some scouts vociferously backing their guy. Quote

That's probably true, but is it really any different than any non-1st/2nd overall pick? I'd imagine it was much the same for the Mittelstadt pick. Quote

You're probably right in terms of it not being particularly important, but it was different enough i thought it was worth remarking on. Quote
WildCard Posted June 24, 2019 Report Posted June 24, 2019 Honestly amazed it's 'milquetoast' and not 'milktoast' Quote

Brawndo Posted June 24, 2019 Report Posted June 24, 2019 It was for Turcotte. LA Was rumored to want to trade down, but he was too good for them to pass up on. During his Physical he mentioned multiple times The Sabres Affection for him. Quote

I still don’t think Edmonton does it because even with the cap savings Sheary and Davidsson doesn’t get you Larsson. We are eager to trade Reinhart? 1 Quote
