I don't think he is. The people who boo him are, though. He usually does a great job with those speeches, but he seemed off his game a little.

Bettman is a lot of things, but idiot is not one of them.

It was notably odd.

HFBoards is a great source for this because I don't get it either.

  • One lost season
  • 2 other lockouts
  • Shortly after he came on board, Winnipeg and Quebec moved to the US
  • Even though much of the expansion was planned before he came on board, he presided over growth in the Sun Belt.
  • He is the face of the owners and most fans identify with the players
  • He comes of as if he thinks that he is smarter than most everyone else in interviews
  • He is considered the one person who blocks teams from moving to Canada, Canadian teams winning, etc.
  • Big market teams hate the Cap
  • He is paid to shield the owners from their stupidity and deviousness.

Note that most of these are the owners, the NHLPA, etc.

This is the correct answer.  Therefore, not at all odd for the kid commish to say what he did.  The Blues lost in 1970, but game 4 was in Boston and ended on one of the most memorable goals in the history of hockey.

Are we speaking English or robot? In this context, "return" means the Cup is going back to where it once belonged. It never belonged in or to St. Louis. When the Sabres win the Cup, will it be returning to Buffalo?
