WildCard Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 How long until Skinner and Oloffson come back? With the All Star break next week, I'm guessing we get Skinner to January 27th, and Oloffson to start March? Quote

Kruppstahl Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 No thread here regarding Botterill's visit with Schopp and Bulldog yesterday? He clearly indicated he is looking to make trades NOW and not waiting for the deadline. Sounds like he has trouble getting it done. Could be on his end or the other end. Remember back when Darcy would be criticized for sitting on his hands and doing nothing? Brian Burke then mentioned publicly that you couldn't negotiate or make trades with Darcy because he overvalued his players. Wonder what's going on with Botterill exactly. Quote

It could be that or a lack of available players to get. It takes two to tango. Quote

I seem to recall that Burke was GM in Van at the time and the consensus was that his statement was likely part of a negotiation ploy. I think that was the year we swapped Kassian for Hodgson. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted January 15, 2020 Author Report Posted January 15, 2020 @Kruppstahl Start a trade deadline thread with some polls, such as are we buyers, sellers or both between now and the deadline; odds on adding a legit center; who he moves on from etc... Quote

Since Scandella left, the 1st pairing is McCabe Ristolainen followed by a combination of 2 of Jokiharju-Miller-Montour with Larsson-Girgensons and Lazar-Frolik up front. Giving up 5 PP goals in 2 games to the worst PP in the league doesn't help matters any. Quote

Guess tha was another bad Botteril decision. Quote

I have GA/60 while shorthanded, before Colorado last night, I haven't uploaded yet. A few notes. Johansson is the 'Don't Know' because players need to get a penalty (or shot, or hit, etc) before the system picks up their name. Smith and Frolik are together, because the player is only described by the number, and Curt has complained that since I'm adding 10 seconds, plus 5 seconds, plus 8 seconds (how the data is exported), that the time on ice isn't accurate, he's not totally wrong. Really? Was he 1st out of the box 1 time when they had been on a 5v3 to account for sone/ most of that? Would've put money on it that he'd had less than a minute killing penalties this season. Quote

dudacek Posted February 27, 2020 Report Posted February 27, 2020 Interesting that Frolik Lazar McCabe and Ristolainen are Ralph's first four and they also are among the best by this measure. Quote

Sabres are shorthanded at the end of the game but pull the goalie to go 5-on-5. That's where I'd put my money. I feel like that should explain Olofsson too. But back to the point of my original question. The PK has performed slightly better with Ullmark in net, but it doesn't look to be a very meaningful difference. Quote
