Botterill's last 8 picks, 6 defensemen and 2 forwards.  He also traded a first round pick for a defenseman (Montour).

Doesn’t trust his goalies?

Great skater, puck mover, going to the NCAA. Vintage Botterill. Wish he was a right shot, but the pipeline isn't exactly stacked behind Dahlin on the left side (Pilut?) so it's all good.

Sounds to me like he's going BPA, it's just that his BP are different from other peoples'

He knows that in the modern NHL, the goal is to win games 2-1.  That's how Ralph won in the EPL.

No, his BPA wasn't the BPA but his favorite American defender

Considering he drafted UPL and Laaksonen when they weren’t on everyones list leads me to trust their judgement.

There isn't "a" BPA

I'll bet you money that Johnson was the highest ranked player left on his list

It's what he does

That's fine, but after three drafts, his top six forward pipeline is empty.

The Sabres did not interview Kaliyev at the Combine and the only contact he had with Buffalo was a Scout ripping him apart after a lackluster performance.

Sounds like they need to bring video scouting back.

Thanks.  I’m not surprised they didn’t take him.  For a team trying to build an identity and culture, he probably isn’t the guy.  However, I am shocked that no team took him in round 1.

I watch players like that fall down the board and instead of thinking that some team’s about to get a gift, I start to wonder why he’s falling.

Nothing wrong with grabbing a Johnson ?

Clarke MacArthur agrees with this statement.

Botterill confirmed in a Presser his CHL Bias in the later rounds, because they have less time to develop players before losing their rights.

This just makes sense.  But notice how it says later rounds.  As we saw tonight he will pick CHL players in the earlier rounds.  Obviously not speaking to you Brawndo.

After he finishes a Hall of Fame career with 17 Cups with the Sabres this will be our new boy’s campaign slogan when he runs for president of Buffalo.
