When was the last time we had a Bertuzzi - 2nd-rounder who apprenticed three years in the minors and emerged as a 35-point guy at 24? Why didn’t this happen withBailey or Baptiste or Cornel or so many other Sabres?

So is it follow-through or not? I thought the new rule was "you need to be responsible for your stick regardless"..

Good question. Bailey and Baptiste were part of a team that did not develop young players properly, instead they tossed them out there unready.  Cornel just does not have NHL talent.

Bots looks like he has a clue.  Keeping Olofsson and Nylander down was probably good for them.  Did not have that luxury with Mitts.

Rule 60.1:

Players must be in control and
responsible for their stick. However, a player is permitted accidental
contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or
follow through of a shooting motion,

Oloffson has got game.  The guy is extremely noticeable and involved.  He could be the gem we’ve been waiting for.

If we weren't tanking they could have brought him up earlier.

Thanks! But does handling the puck in your own zone constitute "shooting"? I guess so.

He could have kept O'Reilly around another season and kept Mitts in Rochester.

I'm dead serious: could these Sabres beat a good AHL team?

For the past few month I would say that they are an AHL team.
