He needs to finish the season, answer for it and leave. No sense in replacing him now This morning I look at The BN and what do I read? How about this quote from Phil I just thought we played the right way for 60 minutes," Housley lamented. "We had opportunities. We had chances. We just didn’t find the next goal. It’s unfortunate they get that power play in the third there, and I didn’t agree with the goalie interference call. We have to continue to play this way. We’re going to get results if we continue to tighten it up." Is Phil in complete denial? Last night was terrible and tonight is worse. Edited March 27, 2019 by Pimlach Quote

I can see it too if the decision is left to Botts to make. He has to evaluate and throuroghly calculate and think over his next move before making it. Cant make a rash decision firing Housley before they give him some more time to evaluate his system..... Atleats they are entertaining and improved over last year...... Quote

Beer Posted March 27, 2019 Report Posted March 27, 2019 I don’t know how Marty and Duff do it. They must look at one another a minute before the period ends and say WTF. It must getting old trying to put a positive spin on this mess. 2 1 Quote

PerreaultForever Posted March 27, 2019 Report Posted March 27, 2019 Pretty clear they didn't bother to show up for this one. Arguably worst game of the year so far and just as awful as tank hockey. No pride at all. 1 Quote

You'd think with the kids --- Nylander, Pilut, Borgen... there'd be more energy and oomph to secure a spot for next year. But no, not really. Ottawa plays as a team, supports each other to win puck battles, and appears to be playing some sort of system for zone exits and entries... it's... We're too old. Too old to begin the training. Not to long ago I would have argued with you but not anymore. They are playing worse than last year, even though we know they have the talent to compete for a playoff spot. Poorly coached? Yes Missing key pieces? Yes Lacking internal leadership and accountability? Yes If I am Pegula I’m talking to The Big Q. If he wants to run the show I would strongly consider it. Heck, it might be the only defendable move he’s made since he bought the Sabres. 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted March 27, 2019 Report Posted March 27, 2019 The Sens broadcast just said the Sabres had an "extensive" video session in which they watched the Canadiens and how well they supported each other retrieving the puck, and then how poorly the Sabres did it. So... they're watching the same game we're watching. How demoralizing! Quote
freester Posted March 27, 2019 Report Posted March 27, 2019 I think they might bring in an experienced GM and make him a hockey Czar and essentially make Botteril the Overdorf (cap and contracts) guy for the team. Then have the Czar hire a new coach. 2 Quote
