Anaheim beat Nashville last night. They are tied with Vancouver for 65 points, 4 back on Buffalo.

Ducks have 11 games to go - Just how much further can the Sabres skid? ARI, COL, FLA, WPG, SJS, LAK x2, VAN, CGY x2, EDM

Canucks - 13 games - NYR, NJD, DAL*2, CHI, OTT, CAL, CBJ, ANA, LAK, SJS, NSH, STL

Chicago is up on TOR 4-0 after 1

The other games tonight all feature teams below us:

EDM vs NJD

NYR vs VAN

As long as the hawks hang on this will be a a good night for teams chasing the Sabres. Let's hope for OT in the later games and a CHI win is extra special as Toronto is in the midst of a meltdown. Knocking on wood now in hopes they don't get their poop together.

Nobody wishes we would lose, but with this line up it seems inevitable.  How far do we actually fall?  NJ is even coming within striking distance.  With our schedule I realistically don’t see more than 3-4 wins the rest of the year. Time to talk draft, our favorite pastime!

Accidental tankathon Mark II. Last year, of course, was Mark I.

Might as well start naming them like Iron Man armors.

I got a good laugh out of that... good stuff

It seems reasonable that Anaheim has a chance to catch them and we'd end up in the 5th spot before the library. Really doubtful that NJ can make up 6 points on us but since the Sabres seem to no longer be interested in scoring goals to earn points, who knows?

Saw today that since the last game of that 10 game win streak the Sabres are trending a points pace that is last overall in the league, tied with Ottawa.

Woof.

Don't make me hate Iron Man too.

I only track the East and only pay attention to GP (not specific dates), but this is since each team's respective 25th game:

They were one point ahead (36 vs. 35 points) of Tampa through 25GP, but have since recorded 45 fewer points (though, we do have a game-in-hand!)

With two games left vs. OTT & DET in the season the Sabres are sitting in 4th last place.

2 points behind DET - they play PIT & BUF

2 points ahead of NJ (who would have the ROW tie breaker) - they play CAR & FLA

3 points ahead of LA (who would also have the ROW tie breaker) - they play ANA & VGK

Amazingly, the Sabres can feasibly finish 2nd last behind Ottowa if we lose out and NJ wins 1 or loses both games in OT and LA gets 3 out of 4 remaining points, which is doubtful.

The Buffalo game vs OTT on Thursday will be interesting to keep an eye on.

That's not a well.

It's a cesspool.

I think we have a solid shot at 3rd worst when the smoke clears, which his outstanding.

Hopefully we don't slide too far in the lottery, and even have a solid shot at moving up.

This team desperately needs the talent we would acquire with a 1st or 2nd pick overall.

I still think if we're picking in the top 3 we trade that pick as a package to bring in a legit 2C and hopefully still have a lower 1st round pick, keeping us with 2 first round picks.

What center did you have in mind that would be worth a top 3 pick and would be available?

Amazing also that on March 16th (just about 3 weeks ago) Gatorman posted a screenshot of the standings which had the Sabres 8th worst.
