Tough to convince other teams that we don't need to trade Beaulieu when we have 9 NHL defensemen on the roster. ....and Beaulieu said he wanted to be traded. Quote

thewookie1 Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Del Zotto also only fetched a 6th so it appears to have been the depth Dman price this year. Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 so that is 3 6th rounders this draft ? ? Quote

He said his first preference was to stay here but if he wasn't going to play then he wanted to go somewhere he could. definitely not the same as "asking" to be traded. Brawndo Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Adam McQuaid at 31 brought back a 4th and 7th. He is a RHD though. Thought there would be a 4th coming back at least Quote
Kruppstahl Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 I liked BOWL-U but the organization did not. Moving him for a 6th is the equivalent of cutting him for nothing in return. Meh. 1 Quote

jame Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Botts turned a 3rd in to a 6th while giving up NHL Defensive Depth.... Botts has a plan though. Quote

So, you are in other threads not even caring about late 1st round picks and then you are in here talking about 3rds and 6ths? Also, do you think the Sabres would have qualified Beaulieu this summer? I don't. He was done. You know he was done. He was clearly not endearing himself to the proper people. So, to put all the blame on the GM when the player is at least as culpable is misplacing your blame. Quote
jame Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Man..... Toronto gets Nic Petan from Winnipeg for Par Lindholm. Botts sucks... that would've been a great return for Beaulieu Quote

Doohicksie Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 JBot has made it clear he doesn't want players on the team who don't want to be here. As others said, he wasn't playing regularly, so get rid of him. I thought he showed well for several games but wasn't the same after his injury. Quote

A good GM would've done some more to ensure Beaulieu got some deserved ice time. I would've qualified Beaulieu... because it would've maintained the depth from which to trade Scandella or McCabe, trades that would've potentially provided more impactful returns. Quote
sabills Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Anaheim just got a 6th for Del Zotto, is Belieau a comparable there? 1 Quote
shrader Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Beaulieu gets traded and we're comparing Buffalo and Winnipeg weather forecasts. I think that sums up his Sabre career perfectly. 6 Quote
