LGR4GM Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 I would have rather kept him instead of this Quote
Eleven Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Meh. Had to get one of the defensemen off of the roster. Probably could have gotten an actual player for McCabe though. Quote
LTS Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Why? He wasn't going to play. They did him a favor and moved him. And they weren't getting more than that for him. 1 Quote

He wasn't going to get more. At this point he would just be wasting a contract spot. Quote

Carmel Corn Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 I thought they would do better though....some teams have some banged-up D-men. Not a rental situation either. Beaulieu may enjoy this new situation though. Quote
ct fab Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 I would have preferred giving up a 6th to get rid of Scandella Quote

Tough to convince other teams that we don't need to trade Beaulieu when we have 9 NHL defensemen on the roster. Quote
sabills Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Beaulieu gets to be the 7th D on a cup contender instead of a playoff hopeful, so thats a nice bump for him. Of course he has to go to Winnepeg in February, so thats a thing. 2 Quote

Truthfully, I think I'd rather have Beaulieu but I would imagine that the Pens wanted Gudbrandson. Quote
Trettioåtta Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 He asked for a trade a while ago 1 Quote

thewookie1 Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Pittsburgh probably asked us to take Pearson hence the lesser return on Beaulieu Quote

He is the only player whose usage made the complaints about Phil's player usage legit to me. If Scandella or someone else was worth more, they could have moved them instead. However, the reality is that Beaulieu dug his own hole after publickly saying he wanted to be traded. Too bad. Edited February 25, 2019 by ... horrible day for typing it is 2 Quote

He said he wanted to stay in Buffalo but he wanetd to play more. He said his first preference was to stay here but if he wasn't going to play then he wanted to go somewhere he could. definitely not the same as "asking" to be traded. 1 Quote

Ross Rhea Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 Good for Beaulieu, he's ok, brought a little grit, I didn't mind him as a 6. Hopefully he can play more for the Jets. Quote
