DarthEbriate Posted February 23, 2019 Report Posted February 23, 2019 Yeah -- that delay over the glass penalty (not called here) is lame. I don't think I've ever seen anyone just intentionally clear it over the glass. And like Bogo there... his stick is hit, the puck is bouncing, he's just trying to chip it. Why would you penalize that (except to increase scoring with more powerplay opportunities). Anyway, let's win this period! Quote

The Sabres had a perennially good PP through most of the 70s, not surprisingly. But after that, with a few exceptions — early 90s for a bit, the first post-lockout season and two years ago — it's been mediocre. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted February 23, 2019 Report Posted February 23, 2019 (edited) I like Ovechkin. (I mean, who doesn't?) His team needs a spark, Risto is a punk to him all the time, so he's twice tried to take Risto through the glass to get his team going. (And it works) Edited February 23, 2019 by DarthEbriate Edit: sorry everyone, I was typing out "spark" as he scored. I jinxed us. Quote

Vanek - I can think of two areas where the Sabres can benefit from his skills. 1. net front presence on the PP - have a second option beside Samson 2. shootouts - remember how TV would sometimes fire a laser SLAPSHOT on shootouts? Wow!!! 1 Quote

woods-racer Posted February 23, 2019 Report Posted February 23, 2019 That looked bad for Skinner from the tv replays. 1 Quote

Stoner Posted February 23, 2019 Report Posted February 23, 2019 Pretty forceful stick right on the lower leg, which appeared to give unnaturally. Quote
