Yeah, that almost never works.

Peca, Drury, Briere, Hasek, Lafontaine, Hawerchuck, Dumont, and Barnes were just a few of players the Sabres acquired by trades.

The NHL can burn in hell for introducing this, the dumbest of all possible rules.  (Yes, it was offside.). It’s not like the Stanley cup was ever awarded on a goal that shouldn’t have counted on a technicality, or anything.

Agreed to an extent. Purely relying on drafting gets us a team similar to what we see now - all our best players are still children and are playing huge minutes out of necessity
