dudacek Posted February 8, 2019 Report Posted February 8, 2019 Here it is from capfriendly: 2019 conditional 4th round pick* (BUF) *Conditions: If Sheary scores 20 goals or totals 40 points or if Hunwick is traded before the 2019 draft, Pittsburgh upgrades to a 2019 3rd round pick Quote

I thought the verbiage was "waived or traded", but don't quote me on it. nfreeman Posted February 8, 2019 Report Posted February 8, 2019 Most likely outcomes IMHO, in order of likelihood: 1. Someone else gets hurt in the next 14 days, eliminating the need to make a move (because I think after the trade deadline there is no roster limit). 2. Hunwick is waived 3. Beaulieu is traded for a low pick as @jame suggested. 4. Scandella is traded for a decent pick. Quote
dudacek Posted February 8, 2019 Report Posted February 8, 2019 Probably through multiple trades, I think we are effectively, we are going to move a LD and futures for a middle-six forward and futures. I really think Scandella is the most likely player to be moved. Quote

Id switch 2 and 3 in order... but yea, I mostly agree here. 29 minutes ago, dudacek said: Probably through multiple trades, I think we are effectively, we are going to move a LD and futures for a middle-six forward and futures. A team trading for Scandella, is a team trying to make a run, and said team's usually aren't subtracting middle 6 forwards at the deadline, they are using picks / prospects only. Scandella makes more sense as an offseason trade when teams are moving pieces around. If someone offers a 2nd for Scandella... you take it. Quote

That's so crazy that Botts allowed that stupid condition to be inserted. "We're dumping this cap on you, but if you are able to find another sucker to take it on... you have to pay us." Quote

I think @dudacek was referring to a scenario where Scandy is traded to a team making a playoff run, and then the Sabres use the proceeds of that trade to bring in a middle 6 forward via a 2nd trade. I'm a bit skeptical that this will happen but it's certainly possible. 1 Quote
