Jack was definitely trending in a positive direction in terms of a legitimate shot at a Hart nomination, prior to his injury. NHL.com panel of 20 writers had him in 6th place in Hart voting. He's probably lost a little bit of ground on that front in the last few weeks, but I think this break is going to be really good for him. Quote
Stoner Posted January 25, 2019 Report Posted January 25, 2019 Skinner's an odd choice. Maybe I missed the back story of illness/injury/subpar play. As for "coming back" to a certain level of play, when has Jeff ever had a season this good? Jack not in the top 3 for Hart? Unbelievable. Quote
dudacek Posted January 25, 2019 Report Posted January 25, 2019 I think Jack’s January (along with the team’s) knocked him out Hart contention. Lets hope their February puts him back in. 1 Quote

Stoner Posted February 16, 2019 Report Posted February 16, 2019 He's 4-12-16 in the last 20 games, roughly coinciding with his cooling off just before Christmas. He's also hugely minus over that stretch. Quote

Which 20 game segment begins exactly 3 games prior to his getting injured in the Bruins game right before the Aisles game he only played in the 1st 1/2 of the 1st. Take out those 2 games & the 3 when he came back & clearly wasn't himself & he's 4-12-16 in 15 games. Still believe he's been playing hurt since the injury but have liked his play more the past 3 games. Hoping he's back to where he was before getting injured, 'cause they aren't making the playoffs unless he's a force again. 1 Quote
