This is why you never go out on the pond alone.

I read this in the voice of J. Walter Weatherman from Arrested Development.

Since this Scott topic is already up, here's a podcast all about John Scott going to the All-Star game:

*Radiolab* did a John Scott episode?  That's gotta be awesome.

I think it just came out today. At least I just found out about it. I'm still about halfway through. I'm right at when he got traded to Montreal and dropped to the AHL because they didn't want him in the game, which I had basically forgot about.

Radiolab is just so good. They keep me riveted to a story I already know well.

John Scott is a fisherman. Another reason I like the guy.

Fear of going through the ice is why I don’t fish the hard water.

Shore ice can be unstable even if the main sheet is safe.

Scary stuff.  Glad he is OK.  He is a good guy by all accounts.

Heard the same about him too. Used to work with a guy who lived next to John's parents. Never heard anything bad about him, seems to have a good sense of humor about himself and knew he serves a dying role in the NHL.

It didn't say he was a fisherman.  It said

Thanks for sharing that RadioLabs. I don't know why, maybe because I was just an average athlete that had to work twice as hard, but I got just as teared up as when I watched it actually happen. Maybe because of his and his wife's narration. Fantastic stuff.

This topic is OLD. A NEW topic should be started unless there is a VERY SPECIFIC REASON to revive this one.
