The Flames are a very good team and this will be a huge test, especially after the most recent *effort* by the Sabres.

One thing that I have never been able to figure out is why the Flames kept the Flames nickname when they moved from Atlanta all those years ago.  Rather silly, IMO.

Hey everyone. Last GDT some of you had a question on the player ratings in the lineup. Below is a link that explains it. If you think this deserves its own topic let me know but for now I will leave it here.

https://www.corsicahockey.com/nhl-player-ratings-explained

What the ...

That is no help to me.  I still say ... nothing.

I have to drink my Turkish coffee now.

So, I will leave you all to your own devises.

What I got from it is someone tried to assign a number value to each player’s worth encompassing various aspects.

Now that is a line up!  I can only look on with complete envy!  Wow that team is deep!  Get ready for another shellacking!

This game is pretty important IMO. Second of a three game western road trip. If they lose but beat VAN it’s still a disappointing trip (1 out of 3). This is a chance to turn things around against the 1st place team in the west. Most importantly I think this game will show if the Sabres have any heart.

If they lose a close one it gets written off as a good team coming out on top. If they win it’s a sign maybe they have what it takes to turn it around. If they lose big and lost big to EDM, their is something wrong more than a team going through a rough patch.

I think JBott sticks with PH for the rest of the season. If they maintain a losing record one of them goes.

Hope they figure out what's been wrong with Eichel & have either a fix or a work around.  If he's good to go, run with those lines (though I'd really rather have Mittelstadt centering Pominville & Sobotka; yeah, he got a goal very early, but then he looked as bad as everybody else which has been about typical for him the last month when centering the 2nd line).  If he isn't, put him between Sheary & Thompson (or do some additional shuffling so those 3 don't spend the entire gamein their own end) & give Skinner & Reinhart a healthy C (my choice would be Rodrigues, but Sobotka works too kind of).

And at all times have at least 1 of the "RD" on the ice.  Don't get a pairing comprised of 2 of Scandella, Pilut, & Dahlin.  Andif he's paired with Marco, let's hope McCabe brings his A game.

And to quote Elvis Costello: You've got to do till you do it, so you'd better get to it.

Make it happen, boys.

Your post is OK, but I just gave you a like for the Costello quote.

@SABRES 0311 neither JBOT, not Coachie Philie are going anywhere anytime soon, except maybe the golf course in April.

That’s why I said Phil stays the rest of the season.
