nfreeman Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 Do we know who's in net for the Sabres? I'm guessing it's Hutton. Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 Important game tonight. We have 52 pts in 43 games and Carolina 45 in 43. The Canes have been playing good hockey lately (6-4) and the Sabres only 4-5-1. A win by the Sabres will make the spread 9 points and bring us to 54 pts with 38 games remaining to earn 44 more points to secure a playoff spot. 20-14-4 ought to do it. If we win and make the spread 9, Carolina would need to earn 52 points in their remaining 38 to catch us. Something like 25-11-2. Good luck with that. 1 Quote
Beer Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 Interesting seeing Sam put on a line with Vlad and Sheary. Hopefully that can create some secondary scoring. Happy to see Jack’s name in there again. MUST WIN! Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 This is the healthiest the Sabres have been all season. I think every forward is healthy for the first time all season. Nelson is still on the shelf, but isn’t exactly needed with Pilut in the lineup. Quote

They had 1 HD shot attempt or 12 per 60min. Sheary - Sobotka - Reinhart have played 50:49 together in all situations. They scored 1 goal and have a positive corsi (50.50%). Erod - Larsson - Okposo have played only 1:54 together in all situations so who knows. Zemgus - Mitts - Pommers have played 8:39 together in all situations. They scored 1 goal and have a positive corsi (60%). Their high danger corsi was 66.67%. They started in the offensive zone 85.71% of the time. Their 1 goal scored was from a high danger area. They had 4 HD shot attempt or 26.67 per 60min. (HD or High Danger shots are defined by this http://blog.war-on-ice.com/new-defining-scoring-chances/index.html) Mostly small sample sizes, but from an analytics point of view, this might the optimal Sabres forward lineup? I’m getting peeved about how people are talking three-team race for last two spots. Win tonight and we are ahead of Montreal, NYI and Columbus and tied with Boston and Pittsburgh for 4th. Concede nothing. Time to pillage the south. Quote

steveoath Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 (edited) Interesting lines. (Loving Skins, Eichel and Tage against the machine). Why aren't Larsson and Girgensons back together? And no CJ? He did more than Pommer surely? Edited January 11, 2019 by steveoath Quote
