I'm not sure Phil knows how to light a fire under these guys. The body language right from the opening faceoff read we're going to chase this all game and lose. So far they're following the script.

He's relied on the Eichel line, with Eichel, to light a fire.  They're playing like a team that knows they're worthless without #9

It would be ok if this game/effort was an anomaly but it’s the post streak theme. Just wanted to put that out there in case any feels like we are just whining.

Because what you see as open net from the angle we're at Mitts sees as completely obfuscated by the goalie. It went over the net because he was trying to pick a corner. This isn't rocket appliances.
