Have a hard time not putting a large part of this loss on whoever's decision (Botterill?) it was to have Tennyson up and in there, and Housley's head scratcher of not putting Skinner out there in OT.

Reinhart did not go to sleep.  He missed the open net but we played the majority of the last two minutes all over them.  

Consider who we played on the road.  Eichel and Reinhart both hit posts in the third. 

Something must be up with Skinner  as he did not play much at all and not at all in OT  

 

Biggest takeway way for me was the size of the Caps. They hit us hard all night.  Playing them in a playoff series is going to be tough.  

JBots needs to think of this as he fortifies the team by improving lines 2 and 3.

Yeah. We're having a hard time finishing off the league's best (Washington, Toronto, TB, Nashville), but at least we're highly competitive in these games.

Ya, that's what I said. He blew it. I don't care if they were buzzing the last 2. Gotta bury those chances when you get them against good teams. Full stop.

To the rest: that there were lots of positives in the game is precisely why it was so frustrating to lose. We were likely a proper roster decision or a cashed open net chance away from winning.
