Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 MUST WIN!! Our pretty hot again Sabres travel to DC for a tilt with the defending champs. The Caps are plying well after a bit of a hangover from last spring. It will be a good test for both teams, I hope. The key to a Sabres victory ... score more goals. Yup. I don't care how many and when and how. Just more. I think it's on TV of some sort? None of the letters make any sense to me ... NBC (and then a whole bunch more). GO SABRES!! Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 15, 2018 Author Report Posted December 15, 2018 (edited) I am not comfortable with Tennsie still out there, but I don't think anyone is coming back just yet. jsb Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 Sabres vs. Caps History The Sabres are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games vs. the Capitals; 3-6-1 on the road. This is the 159th game all-time between Buffalo and Washington; Buffalo has an 88-50-20 series record. The Sabres are 41-27-11 on the road against the Capitals all-time. THIS DAY IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 7-8-3 all-time on December 15. December 15, 1977: Gilbert Perreault scores a goal in each period to help the Sabres beat the St. Louis Blues 7-4. It was Perreault’s first of a career-high four hat tricks during the 1977-78 season. December 15, 2010: Buffalo gets two third-period goals from Drew Stafford to seal a 3-2 home win over the Boston Bruins, marking the 1,500th win in franchise history. December 15, 2017: Sam Reinhart appears in his 200th NHL game, Jack Eichel records his first career hat trick and Jake McCabe posts a career-best three points (1+2) in a 5-4 overtime loss vs. Carolina. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW Jack Eichel enters tonight’s contest on a four-game point streak (5+2). The Capitals join the Blues, Canadiens and Panthers as one of four NHL teams that Eichel has yet to score a goal against. Sam Reinhart has a goal and an assist in his last two games against Washington. DYNAMIC DUOJack Eichel and Jeff Skinner are currently on pace to shatter their personal bests in points and make a mark in the Sabres’ record books on the strength of career-best production at even strength that ranks them among the best even-strength players in the league this season. If he maintains his current pace, Eichel would finish the season with the third-most even-strength points ever recorded by a Sabre (74), trailing only Pat LaFontaine (83) and Alexander Mogilny (78) in 1992-93, and would top LaFontaine’s franchise-record 52 even-strength assists that season. He would also become the first Sabre to record more than 95 points since the 1992-93 season (LaFontaine/Mogilny/Hawerchuk). Skinner is currently on pace to tie the second-highest goal total in Sabres history (56), trailing only Mogilny in 1992-93 (76). His 41 even-strength goals would finish behind only Mogilny’s even-strength total from 1992-93 (49) and Rick Martin’s 44 in 1973-74 for most in team history. 2 1 Quote

Beer Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 This should be a fun one. A win would be a nice feather in this team’s cap. My predictions: The Dahli-llama with a goal tonight. Sam, not Skinner is the beneficiary of Eichel slick passing. Larry with the Gordy Howe hat trick. Go Sabres! Must win! 1 Quote
