GASabresIUFAN Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Alex Smith’s scary injury was 33 years to the days since LT broke Joe Theisman’s leg in the same injury. Apparently Theismann was at game. I can only guess the flashbacks Thiesmann is having. ‘The good news for Smith is that medical tech has evolved significantly in 33 years. My guess is Smith’s career isn’t over. If his career is over, Smith is lucky(smart?) that 71 mill of his new contract is guaranteed. Quote
Hoss Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 This doesn’t need its own thread but the stats are more interesting than just 33 years to the day. 1 Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 I thought Alex Smith was a goaler for the Dogs of the Desert. No? Quote

Stoner Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Alex Smith's secretary's name is Kennedy, and he has a cat named Garfield. Quote

shrader Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 I won't believe that history is repeating itself unless Smith becomes a horrible announcer. 2 Quote

But he DID change the pronunciation of his last name heading into his senior year at college from Smeeeth to Smith. And now you know the rest of the story. ;) Quote
JujuFish Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Also, JJ Watt and LT are the only three-time DPOYs, and both games happened in Washington, and both QBs were missing their Pro Bowl left tackle due to injury. Quote
Kruppstahl Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Really eerie set of circumstances. I admire Smith's reaction to the whole thing. He took it like a trooper. I've seen guys that are not even injured flail around a lot worse. Quote
