He's the 2nd best goal scorer in the NHL at present. He's earned an opportunity. And sadly, had Sheary not scored, Housley was probably going to Sobotka next. Quote
SDS Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 Skinner is 6/35 lifetime and 0/18 in his last 18 SO attempts. 4 of his 6 was in his rookie season. Quote

... Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 Stunning. It's not pretty, but clearly they're doing something right. Except Tage. WTF is he doing in the shoot out? 1 Quote
dudacek Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 I am still flabbergasted that we outshot them 28-14 after the first period. The Jets are Nashville’s only competition in the West but they do seem to let games get away from them. And we are starting to become a team that is never out of it. Quote

Stoner Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 FWIW, I thought Thompson had a very good third period. 2 Quote

Now we will reach the quarter pole in a playoff spot. Good omen for the rest of season. Quote
... Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 Shots wound up being 32-26. Did not look like it. I'm just amazed they won. Somehow "fluke" doesn't apply although it should. Dahlin needs to be in the shoot out. 1 Quote

That's what I miss the most from the last time Buffalo was a good team. So many comebacks, for example, in the back-to-back conference finals seasons 05-07. Quote

Stoner Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 And how about Bogo jumping in the litter box and cleaning up his own mess by tapping the puck under Hutton? ...after Laine somehow whiffed on the puck twice. 4 Quote
dudacek Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) I didn’t feel bad having Tage out there. Dude has a great shot and octopus arms. Don’t have have to be good at hockey to be good at shootouts. I’ll repeat it: 7 deep and no Skinner, no Dahlin either. And we won without them. We've got some depth offensively. Remember when Zemgus was one of our three SO guys? He’d be what, 18th now? Edited November 17, 2018 by dudacek 2 Quote

I guess I'd just trust Skinner to figure it out. But anyway, I'd put Risto or Dahlin out there before Thompson. Anyway, hooray for 4 in a row! Quote
North Buffalo Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 Wow great road win... gonna need to watch this tonight, was too tired and needed sleep. That is two in a row to shootouts. Great news Bastan lost on OT. Sabres now in 3rd place for the moment. Looks like that holds thru the night... Quote

I think there’s a ton of competition out west. Minnesota might regress again but they look good. San Jose and Calgary are both supremely talented and performing like it. Quote

hockeyhound Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 Missed the whole game but made it for the last two shooters in the SO. Wow, Let's Go Buffalo! 4 in Row! Quote
dudacek Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 Props to the ice water in Pommer’s veins. He was the only guy who could have lost it for us. 4 1 Quote
