There are literally clean ways to hit people hard, that don't put your team shorthanded in the third period of a one goal game.

Bogo is a defenseman who is expected to step up in the offensive zone and that's exactly what he did on that penalty. It's not his fault that he read the play right.

I like how this season our defensemen aren't just trying to get the pucks off their sticks into transition as fast as possible. They're comfortable holding and waiting and using their outlet to buy more time, determined to start the transition the right way. That's all I asked of these guys since the tank ended. It's finally happening

I did and it was clean he really didn't accelerate through teh contact and it was perfectly timed.. he could have really blown him up and all he did is skate into him. He is just a load..

On the replay, it was a clean hit. But, NHL Refs spun the wheel prior to the game, Buffalo was the penalty target team tonight.

You are correct. There are times when you absolutely have to take a penalty to send a message.

 Rule 42 of the NHL rulebook dictates that charging "shall mean the actions of a player or goalkeeper who, as a result of distance travelled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner.

I think they're looking at the distance travelled to make the hit.

How was that offsides? He dragged it in WITH HIS SKATE. That is physically impossible that he was offsides.

It's not about that - you can blow a guy up legally. Do it that way, same effect, better result.
