WildCard Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 (edited) Definitely deserves it's own thread. It's officially official @PierreVLeBrun Told that the official trade call was just completed. Erik Karlsson has been traded to the San Jose Sharks @SunGarrioch Sources say the #Sens have dealt Erik Karlsson to the Sharks in exchange for Chris Tierney, Dylan DeMelo, Josh Norris, Rudolfs Balcers, 2020 1st, 2019 2nd and two conditional picks. MODO Hockey Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Wow, you beat me to it ! ? What a upgrade for SJS, holy 1 Quote
WildCard Posted September 13, 2018 Author Report Posted September 13, 2018 @pi2000They have to send some money back the other way tho? They do but not those deals. Those are long term deals for big money. Plus if you're getting Karlsson, you want to win now, and Burns and Couture are pivotal for that Quote
Randall Flagg Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 That return for Kane at the deadline would have made half this fanbase mad. And that's only a slight exaggeration. WTF? Quote

WildCard Posted September 13, 2018 Author Report Posted September 13, 2018 Going to be real interesting to see if this comes with an extension Just now, MODO Hockey said: What is the return ? any word? Included it in the opening post ? Quote
sabills Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Posted this in the other one, but don't the Sabres still have a shot at getting that 2020 1st if the Sharks somehow miss the playoffs and win the lotto this year? Quote
pi2000 Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 What happens if somehow, someway SJ misses the playoffs and get a lottery pick, which pushes their 2019 1st they gave to BUF to a 2020 1st.... then what does OTT get? Quote

I don't even think they need to win the lottery.... if they miss the playoffs, that pick is in the lottery so it gets deferred to 2020. 1 Quote

dudacek Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Damn, did the Habs get more for Pacioretty? Quote
sabills Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Offer a third for Mark Stone right now. 1 Quote

"And since the Sharks have given their 2020 first-round pick to Ottawa, I guess it doesn't matter if they make the playoffs. The option to slide to 2020 no longer exists, so Buffalo will have the Sharks' 2019 first-rounder." 1 Quote

Randall Flagg Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 That makes sense. I was going to guess that whichever 1st buffalo got, Ottawa would get the other. Quote
WildCard Posted September 13, 2018 Author Report Posted September 13, 2018 You know what's insane about all this? Ottawa traded Hoffman to SJ who went right away and traded him to Florida for a better return. So what does Dorion and Ottawa do? They call San Jose right the fck back up and get shanked again. Unreal Quote
LikeEich Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Wait until we see the conditions on the picks. I have a feeling the return will be better once the dust settles Quote

The 2019 draft is supposed to be loaded, and now we have 3 first round picks for it Quote
Marions Piazza Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 is this Ottawas penance for completely ripping off GMTM with the Lehner deal? Quote
Randall Flagg Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 One of the funny things is how mad other fanbases are. Stars/Knights/Lightning fans can't believe their teams didn't beat that offer Quote

I would bet one of them involves a 5th round pick Just now, Randall Flagg said: One of the funny things is how mad other fanbases are. Brawndo Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Per Friedman no extension for Karlsson is part of the deal 1 Quote
