With Sekera out again with injury if I'm JBott I would be calling Chiarelli and telling him I've got Beaulieu available for a draft pick.

Trade Edmonton Beaulieu and 2019 6th rd pick for Edmonton's 2019 3rd rd pick?

This also helps Buffalo shed $2.4 million in cap space.

I wouldn't add a pick. If they want Bealuieu then a 3rd round pick for him is fair. I don't care about the capspace, I just want Beaulieuu gone. He makes so many head scratching plays.

Sixth round pick was just and enticer to get lower pick.  Straight up they probably only give us a 5th for Beaulieu.

How about McCabe and Nylander for Puljujarvi and a 3rd.  Guhle steps in for McCabe.  Puljujarvi joins the Mittelstadt line putting Okposo w Sobotka and Berglund.  Thompson goes to the AHL to develop more physically.

Beaulieu was so bad last season, Edmonton wouldn't even take him for free and I don't blame them. 

Seriously though, what are the Sabres going to do with Beaulieu? Can he be sent down? Waived? He better not be one of the 7 Dmen!!

It's Edmonton, just trade McCabe straight up for Puljujarvi.

I actually was thinking the same last night that Chiarelli might bite on that. 

Puljujarvi might just turn into the next yakupov though, not managed well and they only started to give the kid English lessons after two years lol.

Edmonton jokes aside the Sabres traded a third for him last offseason and he had a terrible year. His value is below a third right now.

Given the logjam of marginal defensemen on the roster, I wouldn’t be opposed to moving Bowlyou to Edmonton for a bag of pucks, really.  Make sure it is communicated to Edmonton that you expect reciprocal treatment some day in the future.

I have to think Beaulieu has some value. He has talent that may make some coach/GM think "I can fix the other stuff..."

 

...but the truth is, that might be what JBot and Wowie think, themselves...

 

I'd like to see how he plays when the rest of our team is better, and he has a better goalie behind him.

I want him off the team because he sucks and because he wears 82. But again: he was traded for a third round pick a year ago and was brutal in the year in between. He’s got no value of note. A 4th rounder at best but likely worse.

I wish they would trade him for a bag of pucks, but he is cheap injury insurance for a injury plagued back end.

I just want some moves made to thin-out this D core.  I want to see the young guys get some playing time with the Sabres (Guhle, Nelson). I have a feeling you are going to need to see some of the vets moved off this team to ensure that. 

So, move some of them...I don't care for what you get....get a 3rd or 4th rounder in return, it can be used around the trade deadline to peddle off to someone else for a part to fill in for injuries if you make a playoff run.

 Nelson is 26 years old. We’ve seen his ceiling. AHLer at best. I honestly can’t see this guy suddenly becoming good enough at this point in his career to be on a good NHL squad.

I would rather have Guhle develop a bit more in Rochester. He certainly has the potential to be worth the wait.

I appreciate your optimism for a playoff run though. I’ll personally just be glad to see decent hockey.
