LGR4GM Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Here's my question. Is it, the pick is top 10 before the lottery we don't get it or is it if the pick is top 10 at any point prior to the draft? Quote

LGR4GM Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Well poop. That said... there's some real talent in that 11-20 range. Looking at you Alex Newhook. Edited November 18, 2018 by LGR4GM Quote

If he leaves this team takes a huge step back. That’s a failure for any GM. Hey, relay this message to GM Beane over at One Bills Dr Quote

Hoss Posted November 19, 2018 Author Report Posted November 19, 2018 Cliff Pu not off to a great start with the Checkers. One goal and one assist in 12 games. Quote
Hoss Posted November 19, 2018 Author Report Posted November 19, 2018 Jeremy White has been consistently wrong (I still think he makes this ***** up) but that’s understandable and what I would ask for if I was Skinner. Doesn’t mean he’ll get it and hopefully won’t be a huge issue to get him down $1 million from there. Quote
LGR4GM Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Skinner isn't going to continue this goal pace forever but he is probably worth 8.5mil. I'd try to get him for 7 years instead of 8 as well. I would prefer 5 or 6 years but doubt that happens. 1 Quote

FWIW, I punched their numbers into my sheet, and they need to play the rest of the season at a 99-point-pace, or go on a 5-game winning streak to get back to the playoff bubble. So essentially, they're only slightly worse off than the Sabres were 5 games ago. Quote

dudacek Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 But Pu is just three months younger than Alex Nylander and that bum is pacing for a 65 point season and has been a bust for two years already. 1 Quote

shrader Posted November 20, 2018 Report Posted November 20, 2018 They've only used 53 checks? Are you sure that isn't the old Golisano Sabre account? 2 Quote

Well they tossed Yeo, but they (StL) still resemble the Sabres teams of the past couple years in that they appear to be a collection of seemingly talented players that just don't fit well together. I don't think they are suddenly going to improve just from a coaching change. Yep - I think more likely than not they will be shifting the StL pick to 2020. Which may be beneficial if their downward spiral continues into 2019/2020. Quote

Like I said, I think their biggest issue is the goaltending has been atrocious. Quote

Yes, let me restate - the coaching change will probably only move them from current bottom 10 team to 11-15th draft pick. Still bad, but not as bad. Quote
