Brawndo Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Wait what? The Buffalo Sabres have acquired forward Jeff Skinner from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for forward Cliff Pu, a second-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. ubkev Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Wait, what? Did we just steal Jeff Skinner? 3 Quote
North Buffalo Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 So JBots has to be thinking young wingers not ready and KO no longer capable so interesting move.. Quote
Taro T Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 No Schlitz. Not a Skinner fan, but the price isn't unreasonanle. Quote
Hoss Posted August 2, 2018 Author Report Posted August 2, 2018 Isn't a Pu Hurricane just a shitstorm? 2 6 1 Quote
darksabre Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Not a big Skinner fan, but he'll be a better fit than Kane and the price we paid seems like we got a good deal. Quote
North Buffalo Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Pu will fit right in, number 1 pork producing state in the nation, also biggest pig shiite problem too. 1 Quote
Thorner Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 (edited) Holy crap. What a get from Botterill. I'm still unsure about the D, but the top 6 is looking LEGIT. This came out of nowhere, so, it's not easy to assume no defensive moves or others could be on the way, you never know. Skinner - Eichel - Okposo Sheary - Mittelstadt - Reinhart Edited August 2, 2018 by Thorny Quote
Taro T Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 So, assuming he's the 1st line LW, guessing that Sheary is 2nd. Guess LW is no longer a major liability. Skinner - Eichel - Reinhart Sheary - Mittelstadt - Okposo Rodrigues - Berglund - Thompson Wilson - Sobotka - Baptiste Quote
apuszczalowski Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Not surprised, Pu played in the OHL, and we know JBots thoughts on those players......?? 1 Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Wow! No one saw that coming. Great trade. Quote

nfreeman Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 I like it, although they dropped a Pu for someone who is likely a 1-year rental (Skinner is a UFA after this year). Quote
ExWNYer Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 The Sabres have plenty of picks. Getting an established Skinner for the possible potential of Pu and a few picks that are likely not to amount to much is a very good get, IMO. It's time for this team to start moving forward instead of perpetually waiting until next year. Quote
